They take a bit longer to prepare than cut or rolled oats, but the exceptionally hearty flavor and chewy subtlety of this wholesome porridge make it well worth the wait.     Cooking Instructions: For four hearty servings, bring 1 cup Bob's Red Mill Oat Groats, 3 cups water and 1/4 tsp salt to a boil. Cover, turn heat down and simmer for 50 to 60 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes. Top with brown sugar, cinnamon and a bit of butter for a delicious breakfast cereal. Garnish with your favorite seasoning, vegetables and/or meats for a fantastic pilaf.

    Double Boiler Method: The night before, in the upper part of a double boiler, put in 1 cup whole oat groats, 1/2 tsp salt and 4 cups boiling water. Cover and cook for 30 min. to 1 hour. Turn off heat and let cereal remain in boiler until morning. Reheat and serve in morning. Makes 4 servings.

    Keeps best refrigerated of frozen.
